Happy New Year!

I have a lot of goals for this year.

The major plans are to get a full-time job and to sell at least two manuscripts (am half-way through one already, so that's more than possible).

Minor items on the to-do list include setting up a nice website and planning a little bit of promotion for when my next novel comes out.

What are your writing-related plans? And all the best to you and yours in the year to come!

I thought you had a full time job?

Hope 2014 knocks it out of the park for you. Happy New Year, hon.

Maria - No, after my job in Iqaluit came to an end, I took part-time work and then a long sabbatical. So yeah, I need to be back in the workforce.

Hope you have a great 2014 in which you achieve your goals too. :)

Writing related plans:

Poem a month.

Minimum 4 short stories (no min. length)

One novel (90 000 words).

It's all doable, but we'll see.

I like the poem-a-month goal, mostly because poetry makes me feel self-conscious, like I was 16 years old again and writing sad emo verses. I admire people who can write this and make it look vivid and natural and effortless.

Best of luck! Let's check in again, same time next year, and see if we reached our goals. :)

Well, I don't promise they'll be good poems. :)
